West Springfield typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday South County proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 8-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Stallions in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won six in a row.

Maddie Grice spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
