Softball Recap: South County Has No Trouble Against West Springfield

West Springfield typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday South County proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 8-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Stallions in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won six in a row.

Maddie Grice spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ava Abromavage was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Lauren Mrowka was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

South County's record now sits at 9-7. As for West Springfield, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-4 record.
