Volleyball Recap: Bauxite Wins Going Away Against Baptist Prep

Bauxite hadn't done well against Baptist Prep recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Miners put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Miners: when they faced off against the Eagles back in September, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

Bauxite's got stronger as the match went on, holding Baptist Prep to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-22, 25-21.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayla Midkiff, who had 13 digs and three aces. Another player making a difference was Lacey Dupas, who had nine digs and two aces.

Bauxite is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9-3 record this season. As for Baptist Prep, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 17-12-1.

Bauxite wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Fountain Lake on the 20th. As for Baptist Prep, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Arkadelphia on the 20th.
