Basketball Recap: Eastern Takes a Loss

Eastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by the Belpre Golden Eagles 50-20. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-14 back in December of 2024.

Belpre found their leader in sophomore Gracie Bills, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 13 points along with eight boards and four steals. Haley Alloway was another key player, putting up four points and ten rebounds.

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Belpre, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Eastern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-14 loss against Waterford on the 30th. As for Belpre, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-41 win against Trimble on the 30th.
