Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Rosecrans Bishops vs. Wellington School Jaguars

The Bishop Rosecrans Bishops will venture away from home to face off against the Wellington School Jaguars at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Rosecrans is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.

Bishop Rosecrans took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Millersport out 68-66.

It was another big night for Tyler Bernett, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Lambert, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 15 points.

Meanwhile, Wellington School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 62-44 bruising from Fisher Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 796th, while the Irish are ranked 313th).

Bishop Rosecrans' victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Wellington School, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Bishop Rosecrans strolled past Wellington School when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 65-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bishop Rosecrans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
