North Suburban Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Aaron Stewart Dazzles in Warren Township Win

Starting off the list is Warren Township's Aaron Stewart, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Stewart rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 149 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Stewart must have Mundelein's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Stewart rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Mustangs duked it out back in September of 2023.

Maddux Hermestroff Has Career Rushing Day

Maddux Hermestroff posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended a pass. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 67 yards.

Mundelein is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3. Hermestroff and Mundelein will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Waukegan at 7:30 p.m. on October 18th.

Libertyville Gets a Boost from Schambow in 52-14 Win

Quinn Schambow was instrumental in extending Libertyville's winning streak to six on Friday. Schambow was unstoppable, throwing for 280 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.7 yards per attempt. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in the last six games he's played dating back to last season.

Waukegan's probably not too fond of Schambow given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Schambow saw the Bulldogs), he threw for 287 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt.
