Basketball Recap: Brazos Takes a Loss

After flying high against Palacios last Tuesday, Brazos came back down to earth. The Cougars took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wharton Tigers on Monday.

Wharton had a senior duo take command as Ja'Keon Jackson posted seven points along with six steals and five rebounds and J'Dynn Lewis dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Marion Benoit, who put up six points and four steals.

Brazos' loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wharton, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Brazos will square off against Northbrook at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wharton, they and Terry will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
