Preview: Lee-Scott Academy Warriors vs. Valiant Cross Academy Warriors

The Lee-Scott Academy Warriors will take on the Valiant Cross Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lee-Scott Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lee-Scott Academy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 84-33 win over the Volunteers at home. Lee-Scott Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Lee-Scott Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ben Aldridge out in front who scored 21 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Aldridge is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Another player making a difference was Chapman Harris, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Valiant Cross Academy didn't have too much trouble with Fort Dale Academy on the road on Tuesday as they won 58-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Valiant Cross Academy.

Deshawn Hall was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. Hall is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. James Cosby was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Lee-Scott Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. As for Valiant Cross Academy, they pushed their record up to 22-5 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Lee-Scott Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 63.3 points per game. However, it's not like Valiant Cross Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 64.8 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Lee-Scott Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Valiant Cross Academy in their previous meeting last Wednesday, sneaking past 60-57. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Hall, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Lee-Scott Academy still be able to contain Hall? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
