Basketball Recap: Tucker Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Tucker entered their match against Marist on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tucker Tigers took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marist War Eagles. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the War Eagles earlier this season, when they won 86-82.

Owen Ritger was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds for Marist. Ritger is becoming a predictor of Marist's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 13-3 (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jay Walsh, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Tucker's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6. As for Marist, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-7.

Tucker will square off against Druid Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tucker is facing Druid Hills at the right time seeing as Druid Hills is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Marist has already played their next game (against Northview), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
