Soccer Recap: Ashley's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Ashley couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the New Hanover Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Ashley fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against New Hanover since Thursday.

Clark Marriott wasn't going to let New Hanover walk away unscathed as he scored both of Ashley's goals, bringing his season total up to 16 goals.

Ashley's defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-5-3. As for New Hanover, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-5-2.

Ashley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Hanover, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Chapel Hill on the 18th.
