Basketball Game Preview: The Burlington School Spartans vs. Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans

The Burlington School Spartans will square off against the Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

The Burlington School can't be too worried about heading out to take on Wesleyan Christian Academy: they just beat Ravenscroft at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Burlington School took down Ravenscroft 70-51 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Spartans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The Burlington School's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Johnson, who went 9 of 16 en route to 23 points and five assists. Those five assists gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Hammond, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Wesleyan Christian Academy won against Forsyth Country Day on Thursday with 59 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Wesleyan Christian Academy enjoyed a cozy 59-40 win over Metrolina Christian Academy. The Trojans pushed the score to 45-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

Wesleyan Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for The Burlington School, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
