Softball Recap: Gautier Has No Trouble Against Forrest County Agricultural

While Gautier didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 15-4 margin over the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Gators, who have now won six contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Landry Boleware tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She also put up two walks, which were her first of the season.

At the plate, Gautier got a massive performance out of Kamora Harris, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Harris also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Sierra Smith was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Gautier's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-4. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gautier will take on Laurel at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they will challenge Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Forrest County Agricultural is facing Meridian at the right time seeing as Meridian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
