While Gautier didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victor by a 15-4 margin over the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies on Thursday. Landry Boleware tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She also put up two walks, which were her first of the season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gautier will take on Laurel at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they will challenge Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Forrest County Agricultural is facing Meridian at the right time seeing as Meridian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
