Softball Game Preview: Hickory Flat Rebels vs. Senatobia Warriors

The Hickory Flat Rebels are taking a road trip to take on the Senatobia Warriors at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Hickory Flat is looking for their season's first win.

Hickory Flat fell victim to Pine Grove and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 12-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Senatobia). They blew past Center Hill 20-10 on Thursday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Bethany Ward was a standout: she scored three runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Bailey Thomas was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Senatobia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .675. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hickory Flat's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Senatobia, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Hickory Flat skirted past Senatobia 3-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Hickory Flat repeat their success, or does Senatobia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
