Basketball Recap: Providence Classical Christian Academy Comes Up Short

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Providence Classical Christian Academy and Crosspoint Christian, and Crosspoint Christian kept the tradition alive. The Panthers had to suffer through a 62-23 loss at the hands of Crosspoint Christian. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Providence Classical Christian Academy had strong showings from Owen Mattull, who posted ten points and three steals, and Asher Arens, who scored five points.

Payton Lauth was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 21 boards for Crosspoint Christian. That's the most rebounds Lauth has posted since back in January of 2025. Another player making a difference was Asher Weldy, who shot 70% from the field to rack up 14 points and five steals.

Providence Classical Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Crosspoint Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Providence Classical Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-26 victory against The Fulton on the 27th. Crosspoint Christian has also already played their next contest (against New Life Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
