Volleyball Recap: South Pasadena Falls Despite Big Games from Wyatt Morimoto-Woo and Ryan Chi

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Pasadena can now relate to. They fell just short of the Rancho Verde Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets South Pasadena lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 26-28, 26-28, 25-22, 21-19.

South Pasadena's loss came despite strong showings from Ryan Chi and Wyatt Morimoto-Woo. Chi had 28 assists and ten digs, while Morimoto-Woo had 38 digs and two aces. Morimoto-Woo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

South Pasadena's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-18. As for Rancho Verde, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-13 record this season.

South Pasadena does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rancho Verde, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Wiseburn- Da Vinci on the 5th.
