Baseball Recap: DC International Dragons vs. Sidwell Friends Quakers
DC International suffered their biggest defeat since March 14, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the Sidwell Friends Quakers, falling 16-2. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Quakers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Carlos Ferman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Jose David English also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
This is the second loss in a row for DC International and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Sidwell Friends, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DC International will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Washington Latin Public Charter School at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sidwell Friends, they will welcome Georgetown Day at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Sidwell Friends' favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Georgetown Day has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
