Baseball Recap: Thunderbird Adventist Academy Comes Up Short

Thunderbird Adventist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Holy Family Academy Padres, falling 12-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Holy Family Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 back in March.

Allen Mihai and Owen Heisey did some serious damage despite the final result: Mihai scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Heisey scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Thunderbird Adventist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Holy Family Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thunderbird Adventist Academy will head out to square off against Wickenburg Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Thunderbird Adventist Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lion have averaged an impressive 12.9 runs per game this season. As for Holy Family Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Ajo at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Padres will no doubt try to take advantage of.
