Recap: Westside Christian Academy Eagles vs. Horizon Science Academy
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 18 to 11 on the offensive boards, a fact the Westside Christian Academy Eagles proved on Thursday. They managed a 54-49 win over Horizon Science Academy.
Leading Westside Christian Academy to victory were Calvin Cottenden and Nate Taylor. Cottenden scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Taylor scored 15 points along with seven assists and four steals. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Reid Guertin, who scored five points along with ten rebounds.
Horizon Science Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Braylon Myrick, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That was a full 44.9% of Horizon Science Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Laval Stevens was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Westside Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Horizon Science Academy, they have fallen quite a ways from their 10-3 record last season and are now at 1-3.

Westside Christian Academy will play host again and welcome Fuchs Mizrachi, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Horizon Science Academy, they will be playing at home against Christian Community at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
