Basketball Recap: Moriarty Takes a Loss

Moriarty suffered their closest loss since December 5, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Estancia Bears by a score of 54-52. The Pintos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Estancia can attribute much of their success to Brian Carreon, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. Daniel Hernandez was another key player, putting up eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Moriarty has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Estancia, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Moriarty will take on Goddard in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pintos will be up against the Rockets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Estancia, they will be taking part in a tournament against Eunice at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
