Softball Game Preview: Royall Panthers vs. De Soto Pirates

Royall hasn't had much luck against De Soto recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Royall is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Royall made easy work of Cashton and carried off a 10-2 victory. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Royall got a massive performance out of Bria Gruen, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Aunika Wopat, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, De Soto lost 11-2 to Wauzeka-Steuben on Monday.

Rainey Joseph made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

De Soto now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Royall, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

De Soto's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Royall hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332.
