Scranton extended the longest winning streak in Lackawanna 1 this week by beating Valley View, 47-13. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Knights.
Marlinn Waiters and Jake McCarthy gave Scranton a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Waiters threw for 183 yards and one touchdown, while McCarthy ran for 138 yards. Waiters also contributed to the rushing game with 55 yards on the ground.
Jc Show was the best wideout in the league this week as Abington Heights defeated Wallenpaupack Area. Show tallied four receptions for 135 yards. Sean Sanderson helped Abington Heights' passing attack out by catching three balls for 24 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Bryan Schor of Delaware Valley is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1002. He has also thrown 10 touchdowns. On the ground, Mike Marichak's team's McCarthy has rushed for 799 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Show. The Abington Heights star has 21 catches for 435 yards.
A big matchup in Lackawanna 1 this week will be when the Knights take on West Scranton. At the moment, Scranton is in first, while the Invaders are in sixth.
