Basketball Recap: El Dorado Falls Despite Big Games from Adrian Rodriguez and Jacob Villalobos

El Dorado lost against Coronado back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The El Dorado Aztecs took a 43-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Coronado Thunderbirds. While losing is never fun, the Aztecs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 629th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 149th).

El Dorado's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacob Villalobos, who posted 12 points, and Adrian Rodriguez, who put up eight points.

El Dorado now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Coronado, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Dorado will square off against Parkland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. El Dorado is facing Parkland at the right time seeing as Parkland is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Coronado, they will face off against Eastwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
