Preview: Baker Gators vs. Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators
Having just played yesterday, the Baker Gators will get right back to it and host the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Thursday, Baker came up short against Laurel Hill and fell 50-41. Baker has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
After soaring to a 38-point victory in their last game, Gulf Pointe Latin came back down to earth on Thursday. They fell just short of Aletheia Christian Academy by a score of 28-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Gulf Pointe Latin has suffered yet this season.
Gulf Pointe Latin's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Coral Hamer, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and eight blocks, and Kaitlyn Lothringer who scored ten points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lothringer has scored all season.
Baker's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Baker strolled past Gulf Pointe Latin when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 31-15. Does Baker have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gulf Pointe Latin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
