Softball Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale Drops Season-High Score on Briarcrest Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Benedict at Auburndale). They were the clear victor by a 19-1 margin over the Briarcrest Christian Saints on Thursday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Zoie Bernard and Meredith McCusker did most of the damage at the plate: Bernard went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while McCusker scored four runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits McCusker has posted since back in May of 2024. Isabella Henderson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

St. Benedict at Auburndale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Briarcrest Christian only posted an OBP of .211.

St. Benedict at Auburndale's record is now 9-2. As for Briarcrest Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, St. Benedict at Auburndale will challenge Grenada at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Briarcrest Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Millington Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
