Baseball Preview: East Dragons vs. Ellet Orangemen
For the second straight game, East will face off against Ellet. The Dragons are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Orangemen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
East is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Ellet just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 9-3 to the Orangemen.
For Ellet's part, Josh Sims spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. Sims has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Keaton McKeel, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Austin Roach also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Ellet's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5. As for East, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
