Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bruceville-Eddy). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chilton Pirates a 21-0 shutout on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.
Ethan Dockstader made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Caleb Myers and Zach Campos did most of the damage at the plate: Myers got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Campos scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those RBI marked the first that Myers brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Travis Lopez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.
Bruceville-Eddy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .939. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
