Soccer Game Preview: Sotomayor vs. Taft

Sotomayor is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Taft is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Sotomayor WILDCATS will welcome the Taft Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sotomayor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Sotomayor's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Stevens with a sharp 4-0 victory. The WILDCATS' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

They hit Stevens with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Carley Ortiz, Averi Emery, Rebecca Moeller, and Emma Reyes.

Meanwhile, Taft earned a 3-1 win over Warren on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Sotomayor is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those six games. Taft's win bumped their record up to 13-4.
