Soccer Game Preview: Sterling Heights vs. Center Line

The Sterling Heights Stallions will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Center Line Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Center Line took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sterling Heights, who comes in off a win.

Sterling Heights is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Mott. The Stallions' defense stepped up to hand the Marauders an 8-0 shutout two weeks ago. The win continues a trend for Sterling Heights in their matchups with Mott: they've now won three in a row.

Sterling Heights' offense was hitting Mott from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Safa Alminshidawi led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Center Line unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Ferndale on Tuesday, falling 4-0.
