Groveton came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Colmesneil Bulldogs. Considering the Indians have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
TY TORREGROSA made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Groveton let JAKE PLOTTS and DAX PARKER run wild. PLOTTS went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while PARKER went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run.
