Baseball Recap: Renton Drops Highest Score of Season Against Foster

Renton's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Foster Bulldogs. The Red Hawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brandon Lock made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elias Buchan, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. David Thor was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Renton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10. As for Foster, they dropped their record down to 0-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Renton will take on Tyee at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Hawks are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Foster, they will square off against Highline at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
