Volleyball Recap: Cumberland Comes Up Short

Cumberland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Iowa-Grant Panthers. If the Beavers were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cumberland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Iowa-Grant, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Cumberland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Boscobel on the 28th. As for Iowa-Grant, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Fennimore at 7:00 p.m. on September 25.
