Soccer Game Preview: Cedar Crest vs. Manheim Township

Cedar Crest hasn't had much luck against Manheim Township recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Blue Streaks at 4:00 p.m.

Cedar Crest is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against J.P. McCaskey on Monday. The Falcons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Tornado.

Meanwhile, Manheim Township narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hempfield 2-1.

Manheim Township is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four matches. As for Cedar Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Cedar Crest skirted past Manheim Township 1-0 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
