Softball Recap: Scurry-Rosser Comes Up Short

Scurry-Rosser was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Malakoff Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 5-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Scurry-Rosser saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaycee Rhoades, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Rhoades has posted since back in April of 2024. Alanah Greene was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Scurry-Rosser's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Malakoff, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Panthers at 9:20 a.m. on Thursday. As for Malakoff, they will challenge Edgewood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
