Recap: Edison Tigers vs. West Vikings
The Edison Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They put the hurt on West with a sharp 69-48 win. Given Edison's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while West is ranked 1034th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Va?ron Mitchell, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Wendell Ware, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the loss, West still got an impressive performance from Fred Stokes, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. The game was Stokes' third in a row with at least ten points.
Edison's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for West, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Edison's road trip will continue as they head out to face Stockdale at 5:00 p.m. on December 7th. West won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wasco on December 7th.
