Softball Recap: Cape Henlopen Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cape Henlopen ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Woodbridge Raiders, sneaking past 4-3. The win continues a trend for Cape Henlopen in their matchups with Woodbridge: they've now won nine in a row.

Alivia Longo was excellent, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Emma Reynolds was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

The victory got Cape Henlopen back to even at 3-3. As for Woodbridge, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coming up, Cape Henlopen will head out to face off against Sussex Central at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodbridge, they will host Laurel at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.17 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
