Laney had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Topsail Pirates as they made off with an 11-2 victory. Considering the Buccaneers have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on TJ Ziermann, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. JB Brooks was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Laney lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Laney's win was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Topsail, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-11.

As of now, neither Laney nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
