Salem took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Mitchell, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bluejackets 7-5. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 13-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Salem is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Mitchell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salem will take on North Harrison at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mitchell, they will challenge Orleans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bluejackets are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
