Soccer Recap: Oak Grove Comes Up Short

Oak Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They lost 11-2 to the Del Mar Dons. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1180th, while the Dons are ranked 262nd).

Oak Grove's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Del Mar, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-1-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Grove will welcome Overfelt at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Overfelt's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Del Mar, they will take on Gunderson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Del Mar is facing Gunderson at the right time seeing as Gunderson is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
