Softball Game Preview: Cedar Creek Pirates vs. Vineland Fighting Clan

Cedar Creek hasn't had much luck against Vineland recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Fighting Clan at 4:00 p.m.

Cedar Creek lost 8-1 to Millville on Wednesday. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Vineland entered their tilt with Ocean City on Wednesday with 13 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 14. They never let the Raiders get on the board and left with a 10-0 win.

Vineland's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average this season. As for Cedar Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Cedar Creek might still be hurting after the 10-4 defeat they got from Vineland in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
