Soccer Recap: Warren County Comes Up Short

If Warren County was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of DeKalb County last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pioneers & Lady Pioneers lost 7-1 to the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles on Tuesday. Warren County have struggled against Shelbyville Central recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Warren County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4-1. As for Shelbyville Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warren County will host Riverdale at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Riverdale's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Shelbyville Central, they will be playing at home against Franklin County at 7:00 p.m. on May 1.
