Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Home Victories for Clover Garden School

Clover Garden School won the last time they faced Ascend Leadership and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Clover Garden School Grizzlies enjoyed a cozy 39-24 win over the Ascend Leadership Aviators. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Grizzlies.

Clover Garden School was led to victory by Hanna Tickle and London Hairston. Tickle went 6 of 15 on her way to 17 points along with eight boards and four steals, while Hairston posted eight points and five rebounds. Tickle is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

Clover Garden School's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.9 points per game. As for Ascend Leadership, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clover Garden School will take on Southern Wake Academy in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ascend Leadership and American Leadership Academy-Johnston will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ascend Leadership is facing American Leadership Academy-Johnston at the right time seeing as American Leadership Academy-Johnston is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
