Basketball Recap: Xian Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kearns over Copper Hills

Kearns lost against Copper Hills back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kearns Cougars took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Copper Hills Grizzlies.

Kearns' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xian Brown, who posted 11 points and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Cruz, who had 13 points and six rebounds.

It was another big night for Isaiah Reiser, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 24 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists for Copper Hills. Reiser has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Ormond, who put up ten points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Kearns now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Copper Hills, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Kearns wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 78-66 win against Hunter on the 3rd. As for Copper Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-55 victory against Farmington on the 3rd.
