Basketball Recap: Warren County Takes a Loss

Warren County was the 49-46 winner over Rocky Mount Prep when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Warren County Eagles took a 75-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Warren County still got an impressive performance from Nazir Shaw, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 25 points and five assists. Those 25 points gave Shaw a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tony Henderson, who went 6 of 13 en route to 13 points and three steals.

Rocky Mount Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kobe Davis led the charge by putting up 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashyd Johnson, who posted 21 points.

Warren County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Rocky Mount Prep, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11.

Warren County will square off against Wilson Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they will challenge KIPP P at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
