Football Recap: Navajo Prep Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Navajo Prep extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 6-1. They walked away with a 32-24 win over the Cuba Rams. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 36-32 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Navajo Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gracin Vigil led the charge by picking up 110 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 110 receiving yards gave Vigil a new career-high. Dallas Wilson handled things on the ground, rushing for 94 yards.

As for Cuba, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. On the bright side, the 24- point effort marked their highest-scoring matchup to date.

Despite the loss, Cuba still got an impressive performance from Dylan Sandoval, who rushed for 205 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Sandoval also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks, forcing one fumble, and making seven total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Navajo Prep wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-8 loss against Hozho Academy on the 16th. As for Cuba, they have also already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against McCurdy on the 16th.
