Volleyball Recap: Old Fort Falls to Buckeye Central in First Game of Season

Old Fort had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buckeye Central Bucks. The Stockaders haven't had much luck with the Bucks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Old Fort started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-12, 25-21, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Old Fort saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carly Fortney had 22 digs.

Buckeye Central found their leader in freshman Mayzie Hanlon, who had 20 digs and two assists.

Old Fort has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against New Riegel on the 19th. As for Buckeye Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Pleasant on the 19th.
