Softball Recap: Miramonte's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Miramonte extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Oakland. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 7-4. The win was nothing new for the Matadors as they're now sitting on four straight.

Abby Warren spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gianna Granzella was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Avery Haynes was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Miramonte's record is now 19-8. As for Oakland, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5.

Coming up, Miramonte will face off against Biggs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Matadors surely won't give up without a fight. Oakland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
