Softball Recap: South Iredell Wins Going Away Against Central Davidson

After only one run in their last contest, South Iredell made sure to put some runs up on the board against Central Davidson on Wednesday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 13-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Sidda Balk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addi Myers, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dilynn Norris, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

South Iredell now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Central Davidson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

South Iredell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-1 win against Cox Mill on the 25th. As for Central Davidson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-7 victory against Montgomery Central on the 28th.
