Softball Preview: Mid Valley Spartans vs. Scranton Prep Cavaliers        
        
		
            
 The Mid Valley Spartans will be playing at home against the Scranton Prep Cavaliers at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mid Valley has 14 straight  victories, Scranton Prep has four straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
 Mid Valley can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent  game  on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Honesdale  a   16-0 shutout. While fans of Mid Valley might be used to big wins, the 16-run margin marked the team's biggest one yet.
  Ava Hazelton looked comfortable as she  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Chiara Zavislak was  incredible,  going 3-for-3 with three  runs, four  RBI,  and a  triple. The team also got some help courtesy of  Elise Larson, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-3.
 Scranton Prep lost  12-2 to West Scranton on Wednesday.
 Mid Valley's win was  their seventh straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 18-1. As for Scranton Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
 Everything went Mid Valley's way against Scranton Prep in their previous matchup  back in March of 2023 as Mid Valley made off with  a  7-1 victory. Does  Mid Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Scranton Prep turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
