Preview: Chesterfield Golden Rams vs. Buford Yellowjackets
The Chesterfield Golden Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Buford Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Chesterfield and 23 for Buford.
Chesterfield suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. Their rough 66-46 defeat to North Central might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Chesterfield has suffered against North Central since January 29, 2019.
Meanwhile, Buford took a serious blow against North Central on Tuesday, falling 81-41. Buford was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-20.
Despite the defeat, Buford had strong showings from Aaron Morris, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds, and Fo'Real Pearson, who scored four points along with four steals.
Chesterfield bumped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Buford, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-17.
Chesterfield strolled past Buford when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 54-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chesterfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
