Basketball Recap: Central Valley Academy Snaps 16-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Central Valley Academy entered their matchup against Holland Patent on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Central Valley Academy Thunder fell to the Holland Patent Golden Knights 68-64. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Thunder came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Golden Knights are ranked 277th).

Several Thunder players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Judd, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Judd a new career-high in points. Calvin Jacquays was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Even though they lost, Central Valley Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Central Valley Academy's loss ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4. As for Holland Patent, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Central Valley Academy will head out to take on Proctor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Valley Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.9 points per game this season. As for Holland Patent, they will host Vernon-Verona-Sherrill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
