Basketball Recap: St. John's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

St. John can finally bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They skirted past the North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rolette] Cougars 63-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Woodchucks have posted since January 12th.

Leading St. John to victory were Simon LaRocque and Ashton Parisien. LaRocque went 8 for 11 on his way to 20 points in addition to eight blocks and six boards, while Parisien went 8 of 16 on his way to 19 points and seven assists. LaRocque has been hot, having posted four or more blocks the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezekiel Parisien, who posted six points.

St. John's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rolette], they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

St. John didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-42 loss against Towner-Granville-Upham on the 21st. As for North Prairie co-op [Rolla/Rolette], they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 72-61 win against Glenburn on the 21st.
